Essential submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on July 28, 2014, 2:21am Massive collection of great tracks from an icon of rock. From scathing critique that is "Born in the U.S.A." to the devastating "American Skin (47 shots)" - with stops at sweetness and fun as well. Springsteen is a great musical storyteller - "Atlantic City" is my favorite Springsteen song and it's on this collection. I am not usually a fan of live versions of songs but these are some great ones and the audience adds some emotional impact.

It's interesting to follow his musical evolution over time (his gravelly vocals are pretty consistent, though), and this is a good comprehensive introduction even if one of his more iconic albums might be a better place to start for the uninitiated.
