COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A boy’s life before he grew up and made movies submitted by ccrose on July 10, 2019, 11:02pm Fredrico Fellini ‘s childhood in a village in Italy is filled with people who fuss and fight, play big tricks on an enemy, seduce or try to seduce the handsome and the beautiful. But it’s all those details that make me watch it over and over. Fellini’s parents have two sons and Fredrico is always the one that gets the father’s ire. The dinner table. Includes the grandfather who still thinks about sex and Fellini s mother’s nogood brother who comes to the table in his robe, serves himself big portions and contributes nothing to sustain the family. A favorite scene: a Sunday afternoon drive out in the country to pick up an uncle, a longtime resident of an asylum. He climbs a tree, hollering, ‘Bring me a Woooman! A woooman!” . Another fav: the little boys pull a prank in school, funneling a long tube under the schleppy kid’s desk and pee into the tube. Of course the schlep gets his ears boxed for peeing on the floor. I want to watch this until I’m too old to hear or see. I’ll laugh anyway.
