Not Very Global, But Good submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:13pm This album would be more accurately titled “Christmas in Louisiana, various Caribbean nations, and also for some reason France”, but it nonetheless does deliver on its promise to present alternate musical interpretations of familiar Christmas carols. From zydeco to steel drums, and with lyrics in several different languages, this album has abundant local flavor that makes for a welcome change of pace from the common versions of these songs that permeate the entire holiday season. This is both a great Christmas compilation and a great window into vibrant musical cultures and their versions of familiar holiday traditions.
