giant submitted by oshi1232 on June 24, 2011, 11:54am it was good

Great submitted by Parzival on June 18, 2012, 1:37pm I must have watched this movie twenty times when it first came out. Though I loved it, it somehow gave me nightmares.

Wonderful submitted by ima_rom on July 15, 2012, 4:47am Great for the whole family.

Okay submitted by Motomori on July 15, 2013, 2:54pm It was okay.

Excellent children's film submitted by KJRULEZ on July 25, 2016, 9:50pm This is a family film done right. Both children and adults can enjoy this movie. If you miss 80s sci-fi coming-of-age tales, this is a great substitution. But warning--it will break your heart.

Beautiful submitted by FordAlpha on August 12, 2019, 9:27pm "The Iron Giant" is a nice blend of peaceful contemplation and heart-pounding action, intimate personal relationships and world-threatening events. It has some very scary moments and some very reassuring ones. It's allegorical, but children needn't appreciate the allegory to enjoy the story. The extra/deleted scenes on the disc are interesting, although ultimately I think they made the right choices for the story.

Great Movie submitted by KidBlue on June 8, 2021, 10:50am This movie was set in the 1950s. The beatnik, Dean, I am sure was named after Dean, the main character in Jack Kerouac’s classic On the Road.
Being set in the 1950s, it has much in common with the classic 1950s science fiction movies. Atomic bomb fear and a moral to the story are all components of classic films such as Forbidden Planet, This Island Earth, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and the Day the Earth Stood Still.
And it’s much better than the book.
