Cheerful 80s-inflected Pop submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2020, 9:26pm Though this album lacks an iconic standout single, Carly Rae Jepsen consistently delivers slick 80s-inflected pop songs. With its generally cheerful spirit and catchy choruses, this album feels like a good time. Musically, the old-school synths pair up nicely with modern basslines and rhythmic structures, with Jepsen’s vocals bringing it all together rather convincingly. Coming off the heels of a smash debut, this album proves that Jepsen has the talent to (albeit woefully underrated) force in pop music.
