lots of shoot 'em up submitted by LVDS on March 19, 2013, 10:19am OK sci-fi concept, lots of shooting, a bit confusing.

best movie this year for me submitted by andyer on April 23, 2013, 4:19pm If you like sci-fi thrillers, you'll probably like this movie. Yes, there is lots of shooting, but the plot is quite interesting.

Another great Rian Johnson film submitted by pkooger on April 29, 2013, 10:16am In some ways Looper reminded me of Rian Johnson's first film, Brick. In both films Joseph Gordon-Levitt discovers a violent secret and has to work backwards in time to figure out what's going on and put a stop to it. Both films also connected to organized crime and focus strongly on portraying the consequences of the actions we take. There's a sort of sense of karma where our actions come back to haunt us (literally in the case of Looper).

Looper was much better than I expected it to be. I expected a shoot-em-up action movie with an old-cop, young-cop team of vigilantes. This could have been that movie, but it's a lot better. The delineation of "good guys" and "bad guys" is much fuzzier than in most action films. I also loved the actor who plays Cid, the little boy. I thought he did an amazingly good job. He was actually my favorite character. I have no idea how old Pierce Gagnon is in real life, but we will definitely be seeing him more in the future. Maybe he's the next Haley Joel Osment. If I knew Bruce Willis personally, I would ask him which one was more fun to work with.

Thought provoking and entertaining submitted by cherylo on June 14, 2013, 1:46pm A smart, stylish, and entertaining what-if time travel story. Like Inception, it leaves the viewer with more questions, including open-ended questions, than it really answers. Also like Inception, I think an entire philosophy course could be based on the issues it explores and raises.

Wanted to like it... submitted by crazypockets on June 19, 2013, 4:30pm ...but I just couldn't. I really like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and I've liked the director's other films. But something about this just didn't grab me. I have a hard time with time travel movies in general because they're never logical, and this one certainly wasn't. And I couldn't get over the eye color change on JGL. Throughout most of the movie, I was really distracted by his face because something about it just didn't seem natural. Finally I realized what it was, and it sort of irritated me. Why not change Bruce Willis' eyes? I think it would've been less glaring.

The plot line was too open-ended, too. There were a couple twists, but overall a lot of it just didn't make sense.

One upside submitted by Steve Amick on August 30, 2013, 10:23pm In the future, professional assassins kill children. BUT, we do still have the ability to grow corn.

fun scifi time travel submitted by CGrayson on June 24, 2015, 7:26pm I had fun watching this movie. Like all time-travel movies, it has some plot confusion. But generally entertaining. I was glad I watched it.

Looper submitted by leenajong on July 6, 2017, 9:37am I think it not good but it's not bad either.

Mind-Bending Action submitted by Meginator on July 28, 2017, 5:06pm This film offers a unique blend of action and head-scratching science fiction, conveyed through an intelligent script and excellent acting. The inherent paradoxes are handled well and the plot pulses along at a steady clip; this is one of the few films that keeps me riveted to my seat each time I watch it. It's very excellently done and should be a science fiction classic.

Looper submitted by c_zhang on July 5, 2019, 1:03am It wasn't the best, but the plot was interesting. Not easy to follow though.

Time travel controlled by mobsters submitted by mandevil on December 27, 2020, 9:11pm A very dystopian future

INteresting submitted by mbleed on July 20, 2021, 7:37pm plot, maybe not as in depth as it could have gone, but some interesting time travel concepts

Enjoyable submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on June 22, 2023, 8:40am This had an interesting take on time travel, or at least its application, as a way of covering up crimes in the future and getting rid of bodies. Gordon-Levitt and Willis are good opposites playing the same character at different ages. Actually darker at times than I was expecting, but still a solid sci-fi action film.
