Intricate Acoustic Folk submitted by Meginator on August 26, 2019, 8:13pm This duo’s slow, introspective folk music revolves primarily around intricate acoustic guitar and smooth vocal harmonies, evoking Simon & Garfunkel but with more of a bluegrass-inspired style. The lyrics are dense with natural metaphors and reward close, repeated listening without being intentionally obscure or too clever. The entire experience is soothing, inviting the listener in and calmly demanding attention; it’s a difficult balance to strike but the Milk Carton Kids have done it here.
