Read by Graeme Malcolm.
Hamish Macbeth learns that a newcomer, Catriona Beldame, is regarded as a witch and various men have been seen visiting her. Hamish himself is charmed by her until he finds out that she has been supplying dangerous potions. At first the villagers won't listen to him, saying that the loveless Hamish has turned against all women. He threatens to kill her, so when she is found murdered, he must clear his name and then work to solve yet another murder to bring peace and quiet back to his beloved village.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS
better than a couple before it submitted by camelsamba on July 13, 2019, 8:26pm Even with various details that just don't add up (e.g. the night Elspeth's door handle was turning - how did the culprit get up to the castle in that storm?), I enjoyed this book more than the 2 or 3 that precede it in the series; 3 out of 5 stars. I do wish the author would just get rid of Blair, the old sod. There are enough other people putting Hamish down, he wouldn't be missed.
