COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Fight for your rights submitted by breaking_glass on August 3, 2010, 2:42pm Weeeelll....it's clearly filmed on a Disney lot (old NYC looks way too clean) and some of the songs are kind of cheesy, but Newsies stands as a pretty enjoyable film. Especially if you want to see a young Christian Bale in a song and dancer-iffic role. (Note: If you're looking for a young Christian Bale in a less wholesome role, watch "Swing Kids"). In all seriousness, I think Newsies would be a great film for kids to learn about standing up for their rights and how one small voice CAN make a difference. The kids form their own union! The songs and dances are fun, you get a history lesson, and you get Robert Duvall, too. Recommended.

Wonderful submitted by poptart887 on July 11, 2011, 10:49pm This is a wonderful film. The music is wonderful as well as the story.

Inspiring! submitted by crazypockets on July 16, 2013, 2:22pm I loved this movie as a kid and still do. The singing and dancing is really fun, and it's just an inspirational story about standing up for yourself and knowing that people can make a difference if they help each other out.

best thing EVER!!! submitted by Kikumatsu97 on June 24, 2015, 4:28pm If you were a young girl (or boy) in 1992, had a typical obsession for dancing boys, and loved a grand adventure full of whimsy and charm, you needed Newsies like you needed air, okay? Filmed on a lot? Yes. Didn't care, still don't. Cheesy songs? yes. ... ALL showtunes are cheesy. It's certainly not boring.
