A serious actor goes slapstick submitted by ccrose on August 31, 2019, 9:35pm Jane Fonda, yes her, was in this comedy western, an unusual combo but this cast pull it off in spades. Lee Marvin is a “semi-retired” gunslinger. Most of his retirement has been devoted to drinking and getting in and out of jail. But he’s the guy Fonda wants to rectify a killing. Really? Really??
There are other to help all this foolishness along. Dwayne Hickman who played _Dobie Gillis on Tv, a duffus. And even Stubby Kaye and Nat King Cole are the Greek chorus, in the background, making sarcastic remarks.
That’s enough to know you’ll laugh and not look for more redeeming qualities. Except acting is GOOD.
