Deeeeeelightful submitted by manz on January 26, 2013, 3:07pm Another delightful Wes Anderson film. When I saw this in the theater when it first came out I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Everyone told me I'd love it. So I was almost afraid to love it. And I didn't love it. Then I saw it for a second time, and sure enough, I loved it.

It was great to have a couple of 12 year olds as the protagonists. Hello, Bill Murray and Bruce Willis. Witty dialog. A charming plot. A million and one Wes Andersonisms.

File under: Little Boy Adventure Story.

Different Kind of Wes submitted by crazypockets on June 16, 2013, 2:49pm This isn't my favorite Wes Anderson film, but I definitely enjoyed it. It had some great laughs, and I loved the production design as usual. The cast was great, and I loved the two "unknowns" who played the kids, let alone that it was an actual Wes Anderson movie centered around kids. It's not a kid's movie exactly though.
The soundtrack wasn't as great as some of his other movies, but I still enjoyed it. A solid addition to his collection.

Wes Anerson's Hunger Games submitted by irenzero on July 1, 2013, 2:11pm A scout is missing and the rest of the scouts are let loose to hunt him down... but he has run off with his girlfriend looking for an escape from the life of an orphan. Featuring the Wes Anderson quirk and charm that either you like or you hate, Moonrise Kingdom is fever dream mythic film about family, love and finding your place in the world.

Incredibly Clever... submitted by Kikumatsu97 on July 27, 2015, 1:08pm I think sometimes people take for granted the fact that few stories these days are completely original. But Wes Anderson presents the most unique situations and personalities that Hollywood has ever thought up. Some of them are similar to people we know or remind us of a relative, but that familiarity creeps up on you and when you realize how carefully constructed each persona is in this and other films by him, you have got to respect it. The characters born of this film are so ingenious and subtle, (save the narrator) and the actors seem to be representing the flawed humans they portray as though they are just being themselves. It's amazing movie that will enlighten you. Watch it.

I love Wes, but not this one submitted by KOH on August 13, 2017, 10:22am My favorite films are Wes Anderson's, but this one just disappointed me. It had all the familiar and quirky aesthetic I love, but certain elements of the story disturbed me. I am fine with crushes between young people, but there were some moments I felt the young Suzy (12ish years old, I believe) were sexualized. It made me really uncomfortable and disturbed. I was sad those elements had to be included in an otherwise lovely Wes film.

Great story submitted by sheilab on June 15, 2018, 2:10pm A thrilling storie very exciting and you can imagine it very easily but there are a lot of mistakes in the series

Story submitted by c_zhang on June 29, 2019, 1:46am I thought the story was really unique, and it was a good movie.

Uncomfortable but perfect submitted by stellafio on July 8, 2022, 2:24pm The movie encompasses what wes anderson's style is all about. I personally don't enjoy it as much as some of his other work but it shows a lot of great color theory and cool shots

quirky submitted by aayushis on July 16, 2023, 12:06am weird but enchanting
