U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive - a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

Why did I watch this movie? submitted by crazypockets on June 18, 2013, 6:29pm I have no good excuse. Call it a weak moment, I guess…. But you know what? Sometimes a Nicholas Sparks story is what you want. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t know better. It was exactly what you’d expect. All I could think was the female lead was way too old for Zac Efron (who will always be a high school boy in my mind). But (spoiler alert!), the main male character actually doesn’t die in this one, and it’s not sad at all, so I guess it’s this story that was ”the lucky one” in Sparks’ body of work. Weird.

Ehh submitted by Lilymarie on September 3, 2016, 4:36am so, the first reveiw by crazypockets, is true in some form but i personally think is a bit harsh on the movie. Yes, there was some changes and major ones to, mind you, but the changes weren't so bad that they made you wish you didn't see it. it's a good movie, just kinda loosely based on the story that Nickholas Sparks wrote.
