Slick Upbeat EDM submitted by Meginator on July 24, 2019, 9:38am Musically, Steve Aoki sticks to a lot of familiar electronic music tropes on this album, but his variations on them flow so naturally that I'm not sure it really matters. The beats and grooves stand up by themselves and play well to the featured artists' strengths, giving them a true collaborative spirit. Though Aoki is conversant with a range of styles (including a brief flirtation with dubstep), this album trends toward the upbeat end of the electronic music spectrum. I recommend it for a slickly produced pick-me-up.
