Oh, Gravity! submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 10:15pm This edition of Disney’s educational series has a good blend of irreverent humor (directed at its target age of approximately middle schoolers) and information, making it an excellent introduction to the basic science of gravity. Some of the jokes are a little forced, but the host has the requisite amount of natural charisma to pull them off well enough and, anyway, some of them actually are funny. One of the selling points of this particular installment of the series is the strength of the real-world applications, which will appeal to adults curious about the low- and super-gravity effects of roller coasters and other thrill rides. As always, the blend of pure information, humorous cartoon illustrations, and real-world application gives the information a better chance of sticking in viewers’ minds (and will also, of course, make them want to visit a Disney theme park, which is probably as much the point as the actual education here).
