Cold War Assassinations submitted by Meginator on July 29, 2018, 9:39pm This documentary dives into the curious circumstances surrounding the murder of Georgi Markov in London in 1978. The filmmakers line up a solid slate of interviewees who are directly and indirectly tied to the case, though the second half relies a bit too heavily on a single British journalist as he unsuccessfully chases down the case's strongest lead. The first half is much stronger, exploring the forensics behind law enforcement's discovery of the murderer's method and explaining some of the political background specific to the case. The film itself is fairly standard, but the story is captivating enough that the purely adequate production values are fine.
