Read by Tom Casaletto.
On a bright September morning in 1939, two days after Britain declares war on Germany, a group of privileged but desperate people gather in Southhampton to board the largest, most luxurious airliner ever built - the Pan American Clipper - bound for New York. The passengers include a fascist English aristocrat fleeing with his family and a fortune in jewels; a German scientist escaping from the Nazis; a murderer under FBI escort; a beautiful young woman heading for a new life.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Enjoyable submitted by Tassos on March 16, 2023, 1:56pm much less ambitious compared to Follet's historical novels, this takes place over an extremely short time interval and could be easily half the length of this small novel.

Interesting tale in an interesting setting submitted by heapah on August 15, 2023, 7:25pm An interesting historical story set aboard the Pan American Clipper traversing from England to New York pre-WW2. Follett is an excellent story teller, and good character builder. . . and this one doesn't fail either.
