Emperor Penguins from Antarctica each express their true love with a special heartsong of their own that expresses their very being. However, the misfit Mumble cannot sing. Instead he has an extraordinary talent to tap dance with almost magical energy and expression. Nevertheless, the leadership of the colony fearfully blames the young penguin's unorthodox ways for the lean fishing that threatens them all. Defiant in the face of unjust rejection, Mumble and his true friends set out to find the true cause of the famine. Through the friends trials and perils, Mumble learns many things about his frozen world, not the least of which being that his toe tapping talent may be what he needs to save his people.
DVD, region 1, widescreen (2.40:1) presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, DVD-9, dual-layer.

wonderful submitted by britlaflamme on April 7, 2007, 3:35pm i watched this movie by chance and absolutely fell head over heals. The music and dialogue is so addicting. I've told everyone young and old about it.

Moralizing... submitted by SarahRose on March 15, 2010, 5:31pm If you're going to write a movie with a moral in it, you really ought to have it make some kind of sense. Sure, fantasy is great in a kid's movie, but the most unbelievable part of your movie probably shouldn't coincide with the moment the moral comes into the story. The end of this movie is weird and ridiculous. If you're looking for a fun penguin movie for the kids I suggest Surf's Up. The penguins are definitely more anthropomorphized overall, but the story still has a good moral and there's no sudden and unpalatable deus ex machina in the end.

Amazing submitted by nfrassrand on June 24, 2011, 8:30pm This movie is amazing. The story is great and I loved it. It's a must-see movie.

Hilarious submitted by 0liviap0pp on June 26, 2011, 8:46am I loved this movie. It's funny, entertaining, and downright adorable.

Happy submitted by honordenver on June 27, 2011, 6:35pm This movie is great and it has a moral to it which a lot of animated movies don't have. This is an exciting movie that the whole family can enjoy.

The best! submitted by tomiwa on July 14, 2011, 1:15pm I loved Happy Feet!!! It's #2 on my Favorite Movie List.

Cool submitted by derin on July 14, 2011, 1:36pm Nice movie. I hate surfs up. It is sooo boring.

Great submitted by Memoria1224 on August 11, 2012, 8:55pm This is a great movie! It was really exciting and the music was good too.

I miss Robin Williams already. submitted by tbbrown76 on August 19, 2014, 8:09am He was pretty cool. Get it?

Uneven submitted by SurfGrape on July 9, 2015, 7:25am I like George Miller (of Mad Max fame) so I gave this movie a try. Definitely saw "Mad Max" influences in the frenetic chase scenes when Mumble is being chased by a sea lion and again by a whale. But overall it felt a bit uneven. It started out as a cute story about being yourself and then veered into a "save the world" movie. Nothing wrong with either kind of movie, but perhaps the director should have chosen one or the other.

Adorable submitted by purchasingqueen on August 16, 2016, 4:08pm I dare you not to love this adorable little penguin story. Mumble grabs your heart and teaches us all a lesson.

ok submitted by poptart887 on July 23, 2017, 3:39pm did not really care for this one

penguins submitted by rjsjwilliams on July 27, 2018, 4:26pm Mumble wants to sing instead of dance and he has problems with his father. And what do fathers and sons do sometimes? They disagree. Hhow to reconnect with each other and do the right things for both.

A fun, family movie submitted by bahr on July 19, 2022, 11:04am This movie is a great adventure that shows it’s good to believe in yourself and ok to be different. There are some suspenseful moments that may be hard for some younger viewers, but I think this movie is appropriate for all ages.
