Classic sci-fi fun! submitted by halalheather on September 16, 2017, 2:07pm What fun! A near genius combo of Peter Weller, Jeff Goldblum, Ellen Barkin, John Lihgow, Christopher Lloyd and many more creates a drama with 3 parts comedy and 1 part cool sci fi, let me tell you-- is GOLD. There are two movies that I believe did not get enough accolades in the 1980's and this is one; the other is Dune with Kyle McKachlan (forgive my spelling of his name). If you live for quirky, fun movies that are "period pieces" you'll love this sci-fi movie classic.
Excellent submitted by kathscot on July 14, 2019, 3:35pm Great mix of music, evil villains, cool side-kicks. A lot of fun to watch.
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai dvd submitted by a2sue on July 21, 2019, 5:06am The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai on dvd was OK... But whenever I see Peter Weller, I always see him as RoboCop! I just have a difficult time disassociating him with the RoboCop role, unfortunately.
Missed opportunity submitted by ThreeCrows on July 13, 2022, 1:42pm The film had a lot of potential – great actors and a wild concept – but felt very disjointed and poorly edited and ultimately not very enjoyable to watch. It's based on a book, so I'm interested in checking that out for a different experience.
monkey boys submitted by tarascon on January 10, 2024, 9:42pm who sez doing a shit ton of drugs in the 1970’s didn’t have interesting side effects
Hilarious, Goofy Sci Fi Adventure submitted by KidBlue on March 2, 2024, 9:01pm Cool and quirky, hilarious and eccentric, very, very self-consciously hip, and loads of fun. And the villain is Dr. Emilio Lizardo. I love this movie!
