In Carthage, TX, assistant funeral director Bernie Tiede is one of the town's most beloved residents. He sings in the church choir and is always willing to lend a helping hand. He befriends an affluent widow, and she soon becomes dependent on Bernie. Later it is reported that Marjorie Nugent has been dead for some time, and Bernie Tiede is charged with the murder.

Weird and Wacky submitted by lauramason89 on August 21, 2019, 3:48pm I'm a Jack Black fan, but the first time I saw "Bernie" I didn't quite like it. It's an odd story and Bernie is an odd character. But after rewatching, I like it more. Jack Black is perfect for this role and even though the story is crazy and weird it's enthralling. Real life really is more interesting than fiction!
