COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Mostly recorded at Hill
submitted by rdb78 on July 31, 2014, 2:24pm
Except for tracks 2 and 3, this album was recorded at a live performance in Hill Auditorium at U of M around about 1955. (See http://ums.aadl.org/ums/programs_20060513 pg10 for narrowing down Hill as the precise venue).
Desmond is more in the cool jazz school than boppers like Bird and Dizzy, and Brubeck was known (and at times disparaged) for playing block chord solos. Their most famous work is of course the overplayed Take 5.
