nothing like the book submitted by unknown on August 16, 2008, 11:41am This a very fine movie of it's genre. Locations and photography is great. The country singer, Tim McGraw, was was surprising good. It's a good story. However, this film has almost nothing to do with the original books. This was a great disappointment to me. When I was growing up "My Friend Flicka" "Thunderhead" and "Green Grass Of Wyoming" was just about my favorite books. Of course, they did change the title slightly. If a 'tween wants to read about horses and family with real depth, read the books.
