COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Delightful submitted by rossorr on September 6, 2016, 10:30pm A classic-Hollywood gem, with a slew of great character actors and a loopy plot that all clicks together in the end. Guy Kibbee is a real standout as a pool shark turned high-society impostor. The hard times of the Depression set the stage for a fun escapist fantasy that I'm sure audiences of the day must have appreciated.

Yes, delightful. submitted by KidBlue on August 23, 2023, 8:26pm The earlier review nailed it. It’s way better than the remake, Pocketful of Miracles.
Both are based on the short story, Lady for a Day by the great writer Damon Runyon.

Meh. OK. Not "delightful", but silly. Plot full of holes too. submitted by Tassos on November 4, 2023, 2:43pm Meh. OK. Not "delightful", but silly. Plot full of holes too.
