The White Stripes (Meg White, drums, backing vocals ; Jack White, vocals, guitar, plane).
White Blood Cells took the White Stripes from underground favorite to mainstream sensation. The band stays true to it's minimal sound on rock hits like Fell In Love With a Girl, Hotel Yorba, Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, and more.
COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Good balance submitted by EJZ on August 3, 2018, 8:42pm I mean, yes, Fell in Love with a Girl is fantastic. But Dead Leaves really is the defining song of the album. It pushes their earlier boundaries but stays true to the bluesy soul of the White Stripes' first two albums. Offend in Every Way is perfect in the way it builds and falls. Same Boy you've always known is heartbreakingly earnest. And Friends is a sweet little tune that Jack and Meg try to recapture and reinvent in later albums, but this first childhood elegy is the best.
their breakthrough submitted by tisaallen on July 13, 2022, 4:08pm The third White Stripes album is missing some of the charm of their first two stripped down guitar and drums albums. The singles are pretty strong, but I find it a bit uneven and lost interest around the time it came out.
Detroit History submitted by danzoia on July 29, 2023, 12:13am This album is Detroit garage rock perfection. Big crunchy guitar riffs and bombastic drumming as well as sweeter country tinged songs.
