Wonderful melting pot!

First book by Pinker for me. He seems a polymath, comfortably and competently interweaving ideas from linguistics, psychology, history, anthropology, math, several branches of philosophy, and a variety of sciences. Heady stuff, densely packed, but the connections are well worth exploring.
My only complaint is that I walked into this not knowing how rich it would be, and I've been trying to listen and understand it as a recorded book, while I'm driving. Not a good idea, at least for me. I miss 60% of what he's getting at (though even 40% is still enlightening), and probably concentrating too hard to be as attentive a driver as I should be. I think I need to ditch this version and just read the book.
(OTOH: whoever the narrator is, does an excellent job!)
