loved it submitted by steelersfan1 on June 24, 2011, 4:31pm i love this movie

pirates submitted by omar on July 5, 2011, 3:14pm awsome

Awesome submitted by Sonia on July 9, 2011, 1:59pm A great pirates movie centered on Davy Jones and his heart. You never know where the characters loyalties lie which makes the movie that much more exciting.

amazing submitted by ColeenT on July 15, 2011, 1:05pm wonderful

great submitted by sauerr on August 2, 2011, 8:35am a movie about davy jones and a huge sea monster. It is after jack sparrow.

Great sequel! submitted by crazypockets on July 13, 2013, 11:47am I loved a lot about this movie. Mostly, it was the storyline surrounding Davey Jones. The rest of it got a little out of control and silly. But Bill Nighy was terrific as a squid-faced soul captor. The CGI and graphics on this were outstanding. I absolutely LOVED how they designed his crew to be like ocean creatures and really got into the gritty, grimy aspects of ocean life. The sound on it was great, too. You really felt the ocean in this one.

didn't care for it submitted by AprilCDB on July 29, 2014, 11:39am was ok, but of the series, this one isn't very good

pirates dead mans chest submitted by hcf on July 31, 2014, 1:55pm this was still when the pirates were good

Solid Three Stars submitted by Avliss on August 1, 2015, 12:48pm I liked this film well enough, but I don't think it's better than its predecessor. The music and CGI graphics are good, but the action feels rushed, and the viewer is kept on their toes regarding everyone's loyalties.

Communicate submitted by steveiew on August 19, 2015, 3:00pm This movie bugs me because it feels like if people just talked to each other there wouldn't be so many issues.

Pretty good submitted by ishhewitt on July 10, 2016, 2:15pm Bonus points for the special effects. Acceptable, if predictable plot.

Bill Nighy doing amazing work submitted by valjean on August 28, 2018, 2:07am Bill Nighy as Davy Jones is unforgettable as this. Despite all the makeup and sfx and impaired speech, he can instill fear or make you laugh with a master's deftness. This movie is worth seeing just to see what a great villain and character he portrays. The rest of the movie is your standard Pirates of the Caribbean fun and hijinks which is always a good time.

3.5 stars submitted by jayzwack on June 30, 2020, 4:49pm Pretty good movie, but too long and too ridiculous in parts.

bit of a let down submitted by kittenkat101 on August 4, 2020, 10:35am This Pirates is nowhere near as good as the first in the series. There is an unfortunate encounter with an indigenous tribe that was actually protested by the current tribal leader of that island. Much darker in tone than the 1st Pirates with much more gore. The twist at the end is fantastic though. Watch this movie so that you understand the plot for the better 3rd in the series--At Worlds End.

Great! submitted by Abbie D. on July 10, 2022, 4:02pm I love this series!
