Beck delivers emotions submitted by seadocks on July 11, 2014, 1:24pm I really liked this album and I usually don't like too many mellow musical works. I also test an album by trying to listen to it straight through with headphones and my eyes closed to try and visualize what the artist wanted me to get, or pick up. I felt that Beck was very sad or that maybe he just wanted me to feel very melancholy. Either way I really liked it and it was great for just sitting around sipping a drink and thinking about all the things in my life, the things that I feel about, not the things I own. Get in touch with emotions and thoughts. Nice work Beck.

Calming but powerful submitted by pej08 on August 5, 2015, 8:17am Beck seems to have matured with his latest effort, Morning Phase. He has stepped away from his catchy anthems from the 90s and early 2000s, and has moved towards music that is introspective and emotional. I plan to listen to it several more times to try to understand it further, but on the surface nothing really stands out in this album. None of the songs seems very different from each other, the album kind of blends together in one long song. So if you're looking for a catch pop tune, don't bother. But on the other hand if you're into music that will make you think, and feel and soothe, then you'll love this dream-like work from Beck.

Mellow side submitted by markwells on July 24, 2016, 1:11pm This is one from Beck's mellow side. It can be strangely melancholy and and uplifting at the same time. This CD really hit me with soothing, reflective melodies. Grade: A-.
