Love it submitted by EJZ on July 21, 2018, 9:59am This is Welch at her most complicated, writing songs that have themes echoing each other, and building an album-length narrative. There are simple songs of youth - Red Clay Halo - and there are the songs of wistful remembrance like My First Lover. Great Americana and old-time country.
