Surprisingly Mainstream submitted by Meginator on August 24, 2017, 2:45pm This album struggles to find its sound, which is a shame because Lady Gaga is one of the most inventive contributors to modern popular music. Her vocals are stronger than ever and shine, especially on the slower ballads, but overall this album lacks the invention that drives her earlier work. It's surprisingly middle of the road.
