Troubled concept submitted by fremont on July 23, 2011, 11:48am This series shares the stories of young people who receive an "ikigami" or death notice, informing them they have 24 hours left to live. The stories are very moving, but the author never clearly explains how the government killing 1 in 1000 young people between 18-24 will really motivate the general population to be more productive. If you knew that you could die before age 24, I bet a lot of people would focus on having fun, not working their fingers to the bone, and after age 24, why would you keep working either? While the individual stories are good, the main concept of the book makes no sense.
