A Classic, In A Rapidly-Shifting Cultural Landscape submitted by paper girl on June 29, 2019, 10:14pm I've seen this documentary several times, in and out of the classroom. I would recommend it for every young teen, boys and girls alike, though it obviously has its merits for adults, as well. For girls, the documentary puts the developing pressure and insecurity of womanhood into words. For boys, it does well in explaining some of the stress girls are under in our culture and hopefully pushes them to cultivate some empathy.

While some of media used as case studies in the documentary have now become a bit dated and the documentarian often comes off as a little over-sentimental, the core message has remained highly relevant. Even if the subject matter is less than fun, the editing and interviews are snappy enough to keep anyone's attention.
