COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Great album submitted by duedatebeater on March 23, 2016, 10:16pm One of my favorite albums. I feel it's a transition between their earlier lighter works such as MHTRTC and the heavier dark/creepy sounds of the later release Tomorrow's Harvest. My favorites off this album are 1969, Music is Math, Julie and Candy, Alpha and Omega, Over the Horizon Radar, and You Could Feel the Sky.

Atmospheric submitted by Meginator on June 22, 2020, 5:36pm This album is heavy on the atmospherics but low on rhythmic and melodic development, focusing on one or two ideas at a time and resting with them. This makes it work really well as background music, as few tracks demand the listener’s attention, but the brief interstitial tracks can occasionally break the flow. Some tracks seem to draw from early electronic music, featuring a single melodic line over a repeated drumbeat, but with more synth layers. This isn’t really for me, as it fails to engage my interest, but I can see why others might find it appealing; it’s certainly relaxing, at least.

A Lesser Work submitted by jibkidder on July 10, 2022, 8:13am Boards of Canada is an IDM group that are less interesting and capable than many other electronic artists and more celebrated than them. I think, in general, they are more intelligible to the average listener. I'd recommend "In A Beautiful Place..." EP or their earlier records over this. Geogaddi's samples are cheezier, many tracks are aimless segues.
