COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Good! submitted by manz on July 7, 2019, 4:34pm A great little film! I really enjoyed a young Walken.

I saw the first half, realized I have seen it before. Saw the second half, good movie overall. submitted by Tassos on September 8, 2019, 11:41am Will see the second half of the DVD tonight. I remember some scenes, seen it before. After seeing the 2nd half, I had definitely seen it long time ago. Good movie, worth watching.

on SNL, Walken made fun of himself in this movie, how allegedly he could foresee the future just because he touched people's hands.

Solid premise, not so solid execution submitted by Will O on August 25, 2020, 10:17pm A really interesting premise that didn't quite work all the way through.
It was very clear that this was a longer book that had been shortened for the adaptation to film since there were several scenes that didn't add to the story and things felt very piecemeal.
There's an interlude a third or so of the way in where a serial killer has been on the loose and within three or four scenes is found and caught but none of the characters from that sequence are seen again and it doesn't do any explaining of Johnny's powers that previous or subsequent scenes don't convey better.
It felt very episodic and while not terrible it could have used a few more drafts to polish things up.
The end really saved this movie for me and I wish the rest of the film had been as good.

I enjoyed submitted by brooksza on August 15, 2022, 3:19pm "THE ICE IS GONNA BREAK"

Martin Sheen brings it for this. The structure in unique with basically three different stories after a prologue. This almost felt like a season of a TV show in 100 minutes.

A creepy story anchored by Christopher Walken's weirdness, with an interesting resolution.
