Great Musical Flow submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 6:25pm This guitar-based jazz fusion album demonstrates Pat Metheny’s incredible versatility as he incorporates many different musical influences into a sound that is still unmistakably his. Pat Metheny is in his element in this stripped-down format and it’s a joy to hear him have fun with the guitar. The music has a great ebb and flow to it, and Metheny knows when to let loose in his solo features and when to pull back, allowing him to experiment without creating music that is deliberately alienating. These tracks find a good balance between comfort and challenge, and the album is relaxing enough to sit comfortably in the background and complex enough to reward closer attention.
