<3 Fool to Think submitted by terpsichore17 on August 2, 2017, 2:30pm "Fool to Think" is the best depiction of a crush in music, and tremendously ignored, considering.

A Disappointing Departure submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2020, 12:11pm This album has a darker, grungier musical vibe about it that feels very in line with the times but doesn’t really suit the band’s talents or natural inclinations. The dominant influence is alt-rock rather than bright pop, though the album is still best characterized as pop rock, with a greatly reduced emphasis on acoustic guitar and lengthy solo sections. Some of the middle and later tracks recapture the old jam band spirit, but always with darker sounds lurking around the edges. Altogether, these tracks lack the intricate hooks and tight choruses that define the DMB’s best songwriting and downplay the sense of joy that usually forms the core of their sound. Despite this, a few tracks are memorable (if derivative) and “The Space Between” is genuinely good. Thankfully, “Everyday” closes out the album as a nice testament to the band and its best, almost as if the previous tracks were just a blip that they had to get out of their system before returning to form. This isn’t a bad album, necessarily, but it is disappointing in light of the Dave Matthews Band’s other excellent work.
