Green Day Goes Chill submitted by Meginator on July 16, 2018, 6:46pm This album isn't quite as hard-hitting or snarky as most of Green Day's music up to this point; "Warning" is more "Time of Your Life" than "Basket Case" and the result is an album that often feels caught in the middle of two minds. "Minority", perhaps not coincidentally the most traditionally punk song on the album, holds up really well, and several other songs are fairly catchy even though the worst of the bunch are completely forgettable and utterly disappointing. There's enough substance here to carry the album overall, but it's more of a blip than a lasting new direction for Green Day, and I think that's for the best.
