Based on the book "Vengeance: the true story of an Israeli Counter-Terrorist team" by George Jonas.
Special features: An introduction by Steven Spielberg.
Eric Bana, Daniel Criag, CiarĂ¡n Hinds, Mathieu Kassovitz, Hanns Zischler, Geoffrey Rush.
It's the 1972 Olympics and PLO terrorists have just kidnapped and murdered 11 Israeli athletes. After the tragic incident is over and several of the terrorists have gone free, the Israeli government of Golda Meir recruits Avner to lead a team of undercover agents to hunt down those responsible throughout Europe, and eliminate them one-by-one. It is physically and emotionally messy work, and conflicts between Avner and his team's handler, Ephraim, over information Avner doesn't want to provide only make things harder. Soon the work starts to take its toll on Avner, especially as it becomes clear that Avner is being hunted in return, and that his family's safety may be in jeopardy.
DVD, region 1, widescreen (2.35:1) presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo.
Contents: Vengeance.

worth the time submitted by veroandzach on July 6, 2011, 11:27am stunning from start to finish. it's a bit of a long movie, but that doesn't matter much with a movie like this.

munich submitted by hcf on July 28, 2014, 11:03am Great story about the 1972 Olympics.

One of Spielberg's best submitted by MH17 on August 6, 2018, 9:30pm Spielberg is at the top of his game in this thrilling, heart-rending and action-packed examination of Israel's reaction to the terror of the 1972 Summer Games. Eric Bana shows a good deal of range as the lead agent and his supporting cast is up to the challenge as well. A few scenes will surprise you and Speilberg does not shy away from depicting violence. A movie that still feels relevant and that probes the question of the turmoil between the Arabs and Israelis, this movie is required viewing for anyone interested in history and in action movies that make you think.

Another Spielberg masterpiece submitted by pmysore on July 9, 2022, 1:43pm An amazing movie. It's is based on a true story and presented well on the screen. Appreciated those detectives went to collect information for the Israel government and sacrificed their lives in between. It is a risky job, spielberg managed to show all most everything to the audience based on the real incident that happened. The entire cast did an amazing job in this movie and Eric's acting is excellent.
