This is one of the seminal rock albums that covers all the musical bases. Great rocks(Brown Sugar, Bitch, hear me Knocking')
Great roll( the 3 closers..Sister Morphine, Dead Flowers, and Moonlight Mile) Great ballads (Wild Horses, Sway) plus bluesy
You Gotta Move and I Got the Blues
A Classic submitted by SaraP on August 3, 2019, 9:47pm Wild Horses, Dead Flowers, Brown Sugar... absolute classics. Listen to this album , but don't skip the other stuff.
Overrated Beyond the Hits submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 9:49pm I know that this album has a reputation as one of the best rock albums of all time, and while it does have a few great moments I found it completely underwhelming (and I think that I would even without the high expectations). The band’s signature blues-inspired rock doesn’t really come through on most of the tracks, and the most notable exception to this (“Brown Sugar”) has its own issues in the lyrical content that make it a bit unpleasant to grapple with. I generally like the Stones and I was excited to dive deeper into their catalog, but this album is a bit boring despite the group’s attempt at stylistic variation and experimentation.
