Henkes tells it like it is, not shying away from the fact that new babies cry, take parental attention, and don't always smell so good, but Lilly defends her new brother in the end.

Another great book by Henkes submitted by SaraP on July 27, 2020, 11:50am Great for kids expecting new siblings. It explores issues of jealousy and anger while ending on a note of love and growth.

Pretty Good submitted by jibkidder on July 4, 2022, 11:19pm Henkes is not in my top tier of children's books writers (where Ungerer and Stieg are at) but he is on the 2nd place tier, and his Lilly books are probably my favorite of his. This one in particular was resonant with my child who deals with sibling competition.
