Unlike Anything submitted by jibkidder on July 25, 2022, 4:08pm I watched that documentary about Jim Carrey making the Andy Kauffman movie, and while I can't say I'm a Jim Carrey Fan or an Ace Ventura fan, I'm left with a feeling afterwards that these films are one of a kind and will never repeat in the future. They are in a category of films built around a specific comedic personality, not unlike, say, the films of Rodney Dangerfield, or Adam Sandler, but the humor deployed is just of such specificity. The particular just purely stupid, rubber physicality of Carrey - it has no parallel that I know of, Ben Stiller or Will Ferrell at their zaniness still do not come close.
