Narrator: Mandy Patinkin.
Wrapped in chains and encased in a crate, magician Harry Houdini was dropped into New York's icy East River. Horrified onlookers watched him emerge, unharmed, less than 60 seconds later. Easily the world's most famous escape artist, Houdini mesmerized audiences with astonishing acts of magic like the Water Torture Cell. A circus performer turned gifted artist, Houdini confronted humanity's greatest fears: entrapment, pain, and death.

Summary / AnnotationCOMMUNITY REVIEWS
A Talented Showman submitted by Meginator on July 2, 2017, 8:21pm This is a very well-produced documentary about the life of Harry Houdini, despite being constrained by its relatively brief running time. I was impressed by the use of firsthand video footage of Houdini himself and by the fact that the filmmakers managed to speak to several people who had known him personally. This film offers an interesting overview of an extraordinary life.
