Pure Pop Bliss submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2020, 9:27pm Done well, pop is the purest form of musical bliss, and Carly Rae Jepsen makes excellent pop music. Bouncy and playful, these songs capture a fun summery feeling with catchy hooks and lyrics that do just enough to carry the music. Jepsen’s collaborations with Owl City and Justin Bieber make sense and draw out different aspects of her musical personality, and “Call Me Maybe” is the perfect irresistible earworm. Gleeful pop doesn’t get much better than this.
