COMMUNITY REVIEWS

US is still such a different case! submitted by Baradlay on February 24, 2012, 12:29pm I really liked this documentary, however, the comparison between US and Finland is not fair. US has a large, quite diverse population while Finland does not need to address other issue rather than income disparity. I did not see children from other races. It was not clear what kind of economic incentives (besides having a high paid/master-degree staff) keep the system running. A system based on trust? How? It sounds like a costly educational system. What about fiscal sustainability?. Dr. Wagner only makes a brief reference when it comes to education budget... In addition, the discussion about entrepreneurship among young students was introduced as the "aha!" moment at the end of the program... I wish to know more data that support this topic must be included as a part of the high school curriculum. To me, it looks a bit irrelevant.
