A band of drug addicts, led by a husband and wife team, resort to robbing drugstores to stay high. They are successful in avoiding capture until their luck begins to run out, and the husband has to accept the fact that he must give up drugs to survive.

Spunky Junkies. submitted by Tom on June 24, 2014, 9:58pm This is one of my all time favorite films. I think a lot of people avoided it when it was released because it starred Matt Dillon who was not considered a serious actor...more of a "Teen Beat" type. This was his breakout performance and It was also the best "imo" film of legendary director Gus Van Sant's career. It was also a launching pad for a number of other young actors like Kelly Lynch and Heather Graham. William Burroughs appearance is icing on the cake. It's one of those movies that if I happen to be flipping past it on TV...no matter how far into it is, or what I'm supposed to be doing .....I'm pretty much helpless to do anything else until it's over. You get to know exactly what it looks like to be a junkie without all the messy drugs and crime.
