Narrated by Barbara Rosenblat.
John Farrell, former CIA operative-turned art dealer, has apparently walked into a good deal gone wrong in Sicily. He now waits, wounded and in hiding, for the cavalry--and, according to his SOS, only Mrs. Pollifax will do. Within the hour, she is on her way. A youngish-looking female partner named Kate, her mysterious aunt whose farm is more heavily guarded than Fort Knox, multimillionaire art collectors, and an uncomfortably familiar assassin await Mrs. Pollifax in Italy. Keeping track of who is a criminal and who is not becomes increasingly difficult as the action heats up.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

I wish that were my grandma submitted by ferdoble on July 31, 2011, 9:33pm Mrs. Pollifax is a wonderfully loveable character that always seems to get the job done despite being completely inept, until some of the later books that is, when she begins to learn her craft a little better (but it just makes the ride that much better).

light touch submitted by camelsamba on August 18, 2016, 2:29pm The additional details above gives you an overview of the plot. This tale is a fun entry in the Mrs P series with a light touch of romance (Ferrell and Kate). Also, no one dies in this one (oops, was that a spoiler?). I disagree with one point in the review by ferdoble: I've never viewed Mrs Pollifax as inept. There are a few times where she seems to reveal more than a "trained spy" probably would, but she is never inept.
