Touching submitted by Sonia on July 9, 2011, 2:06pm A great rendition of Jane Austen's Pride and prejudice. Keira does a great job of playing elizabeth as a strong and independent woman looking for love.

Pride submitted by erksnerks on July 16, 2011, 9:56am Well done version. Read the book first if you have not. Great costumes, complete with the prerequisite kiss on the moors in the mist with the rising sun streaming between them.

Good submitted by ashflowtuff on August 18, 2011, 8:34am This was a very good movie. I don't think it's as good as the older BBC version, but very enjoyable nonetheless. This is the most romantic adaptation that I've seen.

OK submitted by DL on August 28, 2012, 7:46am This version leaves a lot out of the story. It is an ok version but not the best out there (BBC version is the best).

amazing submitted by Ute Smith on February 2, 2014, 4:24am An amazing filming of Jane Austen's Pride and prejudice. The actors are great. I'd seen this movie certain five times or more.

Pride and Prejudice submitted by SBNB on July 28, 2014, 9:32pm This is a fun adaptation to watch. Plus, it's a good one if you don't have the time to watch the BBC version.

love love love submitted by KOH on August 13, 2017, 10:31am I adore this version of the story.

Very handsome submitted by majean on August 8, 2018, 8:24pm Everyone is so good looking! This is my favorite Darcy.

My Favorite Adaptation submitted by dntanzer on August 31, 2018, 9:56am Oh how I love this film! The cinematography, costumes, and settings are so gorgeous. Knightley and MacFadyen have excellent chemistry and worked well together as Lizzie and Darcy. And the wit in this film was hilarious.

s submitted by kscapellie on July 11, 2020, 4:23pm great costumes

Great submitted by parlettes on July 18, 2020, 12:23am This is a great version of the story. Keira Knightley plays a convincing Elizabeth Bennett and really bring out her sass and wit.

A luscious portrayal submitted by kkjammers on July 31, 2020, 6:42pm Although this 2-hour version of Pride and Prejudice has to leave material out of Austen's dense novel, this movie is a beautifully rendered, sensuous performance. The characters of Elizabeth, Darcy, Charlotte, Bingley, and the entire Bennet family are exceptionally well-played and the piano score is beautiful and moving.

Good! submitted by mshivaprasad on August 2, 2020, 6:25pm Good watch!

Packs a Lot into a Short Time submitted by Meginator on August 29, 2020, 1:54pm Despite some rushed pacing that leads to a few under-developed characters and storylines, this is an enjoyable cinematic version of Jane Austen’s classic novel. Keira Knightley makes for a wonderful Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfayden does well as her romantic foil, though the script doesn’t allow for enough natural relationship development between them. The film is very funny and very nearly manages to juggle all of its storylines, though it has a bit of a rushed feeling about it. Overall, it’s quite enjoyable, even if you do get the sense that there’s more to the story beyond what the filmmakers were able to include.

Beautifully filmed, enjoyable adaptation, but don't like Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth submitted by tkuz5 on June 22, 2021, 8:36pm There is a lot to love about this version. It is visually stunning, the way Darcy is portrayed as shy, and many other characters have a nice twist. But Kiera Knightly plays a snide, petulant Elizabeth and is dressed in brown, dowdy clothing which seemed a bit out of character for a middle class family of the gentry.

Great adaptation submitted by rea2mill on July 6, 2022, 5:03pm This is one of my favorite movies!

go back and watch 1990s version submitted by bjkoch on July 8, 2022, 12:50pm okay adaptation.

Excellent Adaptation of the Book submitted by MikkiMoscara on June 10, 2023, 6:38pm The book is one one of my favorites, and Keira Knightly really took the character of Elizabeth and brought her to life on screen. Even if you've never even read the book, the movie is incredible.

My favorite adaptation submitted by acarolan on August 3, 2023, 9:37am Having read the book and seen everything from the mini-series with Colin Firth to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, this has been my favorite adaptation so far. While it is slightly less accurate than the mini-series, it better captures the emotions and atmosphere of the original source material. It's a great watch, my comfort movie, and I recommend it to all my friends.

Pride and Prejudice submitted by hrgray on August 17, 2023, 11:36pm This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think that this is the best adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The acting, atmosphere, and design of this movie are all spectacular.
