Electric Alt-Rock submitted by Meginator on August 24, 2020, 8:39pm This album draws on Metric’s strengths to create a uniquely effective brand of electronic-tinged alt-rock that brings together personal and political lyrics with pounding instrumentals to create an all-encompassing wall of sound. The songs are unique without being trite, and the overall sound lends the album a sense of consistency that nonetheless does not hamper any individual track’s ability to stand out. The overall effect is aggressive but not inaccessible, and the music has aged really well, still sounding unique and fresh despite the increasing infusion of electronic elements into rock music.
