In the modern world, witchcraft and witches are dismissed as fantasies, but in many cultures, magic is alive and its practitioners admired and feared. Join National Geographic on a quest to find the stories behind the myths and legends of witchcraft. Along the way, meet an anthropologist who became a believer in Mexico and a 'witch cleanser' in Zimbabwe. Includes a bonus program: Wicca.

Jars Of Severed Fingers submitted by jaegerla on October 5, 2011, 9:13am This was a decent look at witchcraft in three different societies: Mexican, Zimbabwean, and British. The documentary was about the different functions the practice of magic has within each culture. I checked this out thinking it would be about witchcraft history. Once it became clear it was about the present day I morphed into a bitter baddy and fast forwarded through most of it. Still, the section on Zimbabwe's witch cleansers was fascinating. The scene where the healers find the black magic site was chilling, too.
