19th-century "folklore collectors," Wilhem and Jacob Grimm are con artists who perform bogus exorcisms of "evil enchantments" while traveling from village to village in French-occupied Germany. The two soon find themselves ensnared in a genuinely supernatural crisis involving the curse of the Mirror Queen and other such fantastical marvels as the Big Bad Wolf, the Gingerbread Man, and other truly enchanted flora and fauna. A manic villain and a serious fantasy involving the beautiful Angelika, proves to be the Grimm Brothers' most reliable ally.

I think that it did poorly in theaters because it is a pieriod piece which is really to bad because its a great funny movie.

Loved it! submitted by teri on August 11, 2018, 9:14pm If you like Terry Gilliam stuff, you'll probably enjoy this. If you're unfamiliar with Gilliam, or are expecting a biography of the Grimm brothers - try it, but be prepared for something a little different! It's magical, fun, serious, and ridiculous all at once.

Fun "alternative history" submitted by FordAlpha on August 13, 2019, 10:44am This movie wasn't what I expected, but it was a lot of fun to watch. It's not a historical/biographical piece but a fantasy movie set in a sort of "alternative history". If you like "The Knight's Tale", an earlier Heath Ledger movie with a similar approach to historical facts, you will probably like "The Brothers Grimm".
