Big Broadway Hits submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 7:08pm This compilation presents highlights from several decades of American musical theatre, but its age means that a lot of essential newer shows aren’t represented and the title isn’t exactly accurate. Nonetheless, it’s always nice to have a chance to revisit the classics, and this album presents a carefully selected group of songs from some of Broadway’s most famous (and most enduring) shows. The album has a good balance of ballads and upbeat numbers, and while most of the tracks are the biggest hits from their respective musicals, some of the choices go a level deeper. Altogether, this album is a worthy tribute to the history of the Great White Way, with some all-time classics and some songs and shows that have faded a bit but that may deserve a revival.
