terrible knock off submitted by codyson159 on July 9, 2011, 4:43pm this is just another knock off! dont watch it!

Fun Vampire Rock n Roll Romp! submitted by irenzero on August 5, 2011, 10:09am Do you want to see a freaky, scary, vampire flick... then check out Near Dark... you want a teen/romance vampire flick, I have no idea what you should watch... but if you want something fun, something lighter, filled with some nice moments, a lot of fun stunt casting, and a bit of heart Suck is should be right at the top of your list.

Suck tells the story of a struggling rock group who are on their way to whocaresville. They aren't awful, just not good, until on night their bass play falls in with a vampire and things start to change. Told in a series of adventures, I found it to be charming, fun adventure with a heart. There are some gross out cartoon like gore moments, but no sex, or drugs or realistic violence... I can't even recall any swearing.

I did laugh a couple of time as some bits, mostly the silly ones, but they were honest laughs. I also enjoyed the flow, the chemistry between the band members and the could of shots that paid homage to some well known rock album covers. The cameos by several rock icons were often very fun, but more so both Henry Rollins and Alice Cooper seemed to be having a lot of fun playing things over the top, and I have to give props to Iggy for what might be his best screen performance.... and I am sure that his role helped smooth the way for the use of The Stooges music in a couple of scene. The music by the main band by the way is solid alt rock, nothing earth shattering, but nothing awful either.

I think there is also a message in there somewhere in the film, about the music industry, about relationships, about the price of fame and the price of the middle class yuppie life as well... but you can ignore it if you like, it's not really there to hit you over the head. Over all I really did like this film much more than I thought I would . It is not like any other film that I can and think of, and it would make a fine party film for the halloween season.
